Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree
Gods, what a lovely story. A story of friendship, new beginnings, coffee, and pastries. This story is a comforting tale. It’s a warm cup on a rainy day. A story that encompasses the feeling of safety, love, and friendship.
In a world of fantasy and bloodshed, you meet Viv. A half-orc woman who has seen pain and blood wants to put aside the past and open something lovely. A story told in search of new dreams and a new life, she opens the first coffee shop accompanied by a fun cast of characters.
Cal is a gruff hobgoblin carpenter who is diligent in his work and curious about this new arrival. Tandri, a sweet and spicy succubus, works the front with Viv. In the kitchen, Thimble, the quiet, ingenious baker who makes the pastries that Baldree describes in such a way that I recommend having some on hand.
This story breaks the typical fantasy DND mold and doesn’t place you in a fast-paced high stakes story. Instead, it is warm and inviting, like a warm fireplace on a chilly day. So grab a blanket, maybe a warm drink, and definitely a tasty treat while you read a story of dreams.
